Refurbishement / Optimisation of filter bottoms without nozzles
We are also the ideal partner for the renovation of
M-bottom, concrete bottom with hollow, M-shaped concrete blocks (BAMAG)
T-bottom, filter bottom with profiled (T-shaped) beams (BAMAG)
Slotted bottom, filter bottom with self-supporting profiled concrete beams
grid bottom, supporting bottom made of steel rod mats
As is well known, every filter with a loose grain bed must be cleaned from the impurities trapped in the filter bed by flushing the filter (backwashing) after a certain period of operation.
An appropriately designed filter bottom is required for even distribution of the flushing media below the filter bed, which of course also has to support the actual filter bed and the pressure loss on it during filter operation.
In practice, two different systems are used for this purpose, namely filter bottoms with corresponding nozzle sets and filter bottoms without nozzles. In the former, the backwashing media is distributed by a large number of nozzles arranged in a filter bottom made of steel or concrete.
The nozzle-free bottoms are different variants, such as e.g.
-
“M-bottoms”, consisting of simple, hollow concrete blocks that are open at the bottom (M-blocks).
These M-blocks rest without anchoring on a flat filter chamber bottom, in rows, without sealing. -
“T-bottoms”, consisting of compact profiled beams that rest side by side on a flat iron ring of the vessel jacket without anchoring/sealing.
As part of filter refurbishment, we will do the following for you:
- Emptying of the filter chambers
- Inspection of installed parts and functional parts
- Replacement of defective installation parts (M-blocks, T-beams)
- Optimisation of the pipework system
- Addition/replacement of the air distribution boxes
- Filling with new filter material
Practical examples:
M-bottom = concrete bottom with hollow, M-shaped concrete blocks (BAMAG)
T-bottom = filter bottom with profiled beams (BAMAG)
Grid bottom = supporting bottom made of steel rod mats
Slotted bottom = filter bottom with self-supporting profiled concrete beams (no illustration available)
